Celebrating eight years of Fire, Food & Fun, our 2018 Fired Up community festival, a family-oriented celebration of our town, will occur on Saturday, September 29th, at the Historic Railroad Depot Plaza in the old downtown region of Tucumcari, New Mexico. Admission is free for all attendees!
The two-day Fired Up Quilt Show, now in its fourth year, has been expanded to two separate locations in the MainStreet District and will open at 10 a.m. on both Friday & Saturday. And if you’re a gearhead, you’ve got to see the entries that we’ve attracted for our Car & Motorcycle Show to be held on Main Street. An action-packed array of entertainment is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with music, kid’s contests, dancing provided by local residents, followed by professional mariachi’s and country bands from around the state.
Along with all this explosive action, Fired Up will feature homegrown food, arts & crafts and unique clothing vendors along its main 2nd Street corridor. New to this year’s festival will also be our first ever Chili Challenge offering both red and green options that will satisfy the most discriminating pallet. We haven’t forgotten the kids either with numerous games and activities located in our “Kids Corner” and the 4-H Rocket Building area.
As darkness begins to descend on the festival, the fire and thunder will again appear with our signature Odd Lab dance troupe, always a fan favorite, followed by our world class fireworks display scheduled to end this year’s celebration at 9 p.m. There also could be additional surprise fire performances that appear during this time as well.Join us for the incredible sights, sounds and smells of an Eastern New Mexico community event that successfully attracts more than 3,000 attendees from around the region!
